“Nature loves to hide.” Heraclitus

I presently live on an island, north of Seattle. I have a keen sense for place. As a boy in the Midwest, I knew I would live in the midst of mountains and the ocean. I enjoy my inner life and work on developing as a person and at the same time learning to be a more connected part of the world, animal, human and non-organic – all of life. I am moving away from judgement and moving towards seeing what is. Most of nature needs no change or management. Photography and literature play a large part in my life, as does my partner. Personal expression is an important part of why we are here, no different from a tree or plant or rock.

  1. Your Zen-like phrases ring well in my brain. We seem still, however, to see ourselves ‘in Nature’ not ‘of Nature.’ So difficult to integrate when our left brain is constantly called upon to deal with civilized matters.

We have now subscribed to each other’s blogs. I have another you may wish to look at. I just posted a new (short) essay, On Promises: http://wordsafew.com/2012/12/28/on-promises/

PS: Been to Whidby Island–Beautiful area, in general.

  2. Your blog is great, whether you know it or not. So, I have nominated you for a Sunshine Blog Award leaving you with two options: 1) bask in the glow; or 2) bask in the glow and spread it further as described on my blog (the post titled “A Sunny Friday”).
